Terms & Conditions

Short version: your files stay yours and we try hard to keep them safe, but FileGooi is not a backup: keep your own copy, and be careful who you give links to. We delete files when their links expire, and we'll remove anything unlawful.

1. Who we are

FileGooi (filegooi.co.za) is run by Nitric Industries cc, South Africa. Contact: support@filegooi.co.za. By using FileGooi you agree to these terms.

2. The service

FileGooi lets you upload files and share them with a private link, and receive files through an upload bay. Files and links expire after the period that applies to your package and are then deleted. We may change or stop parts of the service; we'll give reasonable notice of big changes where we can.

3. Your account

Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and must tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

4. Your files

• You keep all rights to your files. You give us only the permission we need to store them and deliver them to people who have the link.
• Anyone who has a link can download that file. You decide who gets your links, and you are responsible for that. We are not responsible if a file reaches someone you didn't intend, for example because a link was forwarded, posted, found or guessed, because you or the person you sent it to was tricked into handing it over (social engineering), or because of a criminal attack on our systems despite our security measures.
• We don't look through your files, but our systems scan them for viruses, and we may remove a file when the law requires it or when we receive a valid complaint.
• FileGooi is not a backup. Files can be lost, deleted or damaged, and we take no responsibility for that, however it happens. Always keep your own copy.

5. What you may not do

Don't use FileGooi to send or receive anything that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights (including copyright), is defamatory, invades someone's privacy, sexually exploits children, promotes violence or hatred, or contains viruses or malware. Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of FileGooi. We may suspend accounts that do any of this and report them where the law requires.

6. FileGooi Pro

• Pro is a monthly (R99) or yearly (R990) subscription, paid by card through Paystack. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time under FileGooi Pro. You stay on Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
• If you're unhappy, tell us within 10 days of a payment and we'll refund it.
• We'll give at least a month's notice of price changes.

7. Complaints and take-downs

8. Liability

We provide FileGooi with reasonable care and skill, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for:

• files that are lost, deleted, damaged or no longer available;
• files reaching people you didn't intend (see section 4);
• the content of files people send through FileGooi; or
• any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Law

South African law applies to these terms. We may update them; if a change is significant, we'll let account holders know by email before it takes effect.
